This was a fun little project to work on because I had never done any first person animation before. It was pretty fun making the reload animation and trying different poses and ways to reload the gun to see what looked best. Timing was also a big part of this project because having those well timed, powerful hits during a reload animation is what really makes it feel good. I also had to rig the gun which was good practice. To get it into Unreal I used the First Person Template as a base and modified it to include functionality for the reload, camera shake and effects.
This was a good learning experience because I got to practice putting more animations into Unreal as well as learn about how to use Notifies and Montages for animation.
